Monster Movie Posters
Out of all of the monster movies that have been made, there are many different types that would each make a great collection of monster movie posters. From the earliest to the latest movies, great posters of great movies and monsters would equal a great collection.
The Classic Monster Movies
A typical monster movie poster collection would have to include the classics of the early days of film-making with such characters as Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, and the Dracula movies. To this you would want to add King, the Creature From the Black Lagoon, and others.
The Monster Gets The Girl Collection
Many monster movie posters, in an effort to attract potential customers, display the helpless woman in the arms (or whatever) of an incredibly evil looking monster. What a picture it makes, and what a collection it would be to gather together as many of these as possible.
Two of these that are really classic are with King Kong, and the robot in The Day The Earth Stood Still.
The Giant Monsters Poster Collection
A number of movies have been made with various creatures that became gigantic and attacked a community, a base, an outpost in space, etc. This collection could start with King Kong, and go to the movies about the giant spiders, preying mantis, scorpions, sharks, crabs, squids, and might even include giant people (Attack of the 50 foot Woman), etc. This collection, of course, would not be complete without monster movie posters that include Godzilla, and Mothra, too.
The Horror Monster Poster Collection
All of us have seen the more human type of monsters on the TV - some supposedly were humans at one time, but were changed by an experiment gone bad, or something like that. Other monsters simply were possessed, or rose from the dead. This collection could include the monster movie posters from movies like, Creature From The Black Lagoon, Swamp Thing, The Invisible Man, Night of the Living Dead, and numerous others. To this collection you might want to add the Halloween posters, Friday the 13th, Phantom of the Opera, Freddie movies, and a host of others.
Creatures From Outer Space Collection
This one could certainly get big, these days, as there are many possibilities. Attacks by either Martians, or some other alien, has long fascinated man, and been a source of fear to him, too. This one would have to start with such monster movie posters as The Day The Earth Stood Still, Invaders From Mars, and War of The Worlds. To this would have to be added such movies as the Alien and Predator series, and just about an endless list of other possibilities.
