The movies of yesteryear were certainly classic in their own rights. Those were the days when actors and actresses had to really know how to act. The movie was made, back then, on the quality of the actor, and not just on the action. Today's films, however, are often dependent on the action scenes - and there are many of them, rather than the quality of acting. Whenever one thinks of classic western movies, most will immediately think of John Wayne. He played in many westerns, and his name became a household word that was synonymous for western films. When it comes to humorous movies, it would be almost impossible to forget the team made up by Bing Crosby and Bob Hope. When these movies were filmed, they were considered to be one of the greatest teams of stars. A four series of four films of "On The Road..." (to Bali, Morrocco, to Singapore, and to Bali). When it comes to classic actors there is no shortage of names - but there is a shortage of space, so only a few will be suggested here. But one of the most famous, in the early days, would have to be Clark Gable, and the famous movie, Gone With the Wind. What would any collection of classic movie posters be without this classic? Other stars include Eroll Flynn, Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, and the Marx Brothers.
Classic Actresses
No list can ever be considered complete without mentioning the great actresses of the classic films. Certainly their beauty and charm are what brought many to watch the silver screen. These stars would have among their number names like: Doris Day, Rita Hayward, Elizabeth Taylor, Marlene Dietrich, Katherine Hepburn, Shirley Temple, and Delores Del Rio.
